Fiction's Friction

Fantasy is just reality in a different land, speaking a different language
Zed Ezekiel
Well the tale ended.

Not with a bang, but it fizzled out. Why? Because reality is a drag!

(Zed’s Note: Have you been to The Ship over at Jalan Bukit Bintang? Upstairs, a place called The Captain’s Cabin, go over on a Friday and check out the drags putting on a show. My tip? Order something stiff, and drink fast! What if you don’t drink? Is smoking pot still illegal here? Okay then you’ll just have to rough it out. Sorry!)

Real life? We are constantly looking for the fairy tale that we grew up with, from “Once upon a time” all the way to “…and they lived happily ever after!”. Well guess what? I am sorry to be the one bursting your bubble, but last time I checked Snow White was still stuck with the dwarfs, and Rumpelstiltskins is not spinning yarns of gold.

Truth to be told is that we all strive for happiness, and gloom during moments of despair. But this is the fact - for there will not be happiness if there is no sadness to compare it with. It is interesting that we have to go through pain, to really appreciate the joys of pleasure. I thank god for what I have, and I seek forgiveness for my greed.

I thank you for having spent some time reading the story, it may not be much but it is what it is so I am glad we all got over it. Why? So I can babble about other irrelevant things in life.

By the way, today I seek your attention to this entry by totoro - which highlights a story that I feel is a must read. It also shares the pain that Jacqueline went through (and still is going through). Be mindful of the pictures, but I think its necessary to send the point across.

Cheers.
Thanks baby for the title... I like!

I've read Totoro's entry.
Now, I'm sad.
:(

(but the truth is..... Malaysian drivers are simply inconsiderate!!! And simply rude; And simply ignorant of what "road courtesy and safe driving" is all about".

been a while since i went up captain's cabin. great place to go once in a few months or a year. the drags, they're called sexy divas and the're hot. But remember to pinch yourself and remind yourself that they're drag coz unless you're into drag, it's kinda confusing when you find yourself drooling over them and picking your favourites.

Is the stand up comedy still on? You know, the one by madam kay po chi or sumthin'. Coz that's a killer. Also worth once a year coz it's the same almost every night. Is it still the same? By the way my fav session is the one man drag-miming action with Shirley Basey's I Who Have Nothing, in the background..

I can't help it! I thrive on fantasy! Dreams are my staple food!

*Still hoping the frog I kissed would one day realise that he's the prince charming i'm waiting for*

*OD'ed on nonsensical bedtime stories during my bubbly childhood days. They've come back to haunt me now.

those fantasy also give expectation that only the beautifuls will live happily ever after as only the beautifuls are always kind and charming.

yea... totoro drives like a mad man!
Worse than I do :P

i think i live in fantasy land 70% of the time. Maybe coz i was brought up to try to achieve an ideal life. Of course, I was hit by a tonne of bricks seeing reality... and ended up being the confused person i am now

Note to self: why am i so negative!?

hi angel,

hmmm... Niagara Falls? fish go to poo there dear =)

hey totoro,

am not sure which one has more impact, the story about Mr Ant or the one about the driving! LOL but no worries mate, it was my small way of spreading the message, which i find important.

hi leilanie,

i think it involves the whole eco-system the roads, the drivers and the authorities - but we are bad, its like we turn into some kind of monster behind the wheel. i think me included sometimes heh heh, that’s why need reminder!

hi agus,

welcome! and thank for dropping a note. usually when i am up at captain's cabin it's a blur =) but you are right, it's good for a few laughs... once in a while, long long while perhaps heh heh

hi silent,

i weally weally would like to hear more about these penang drivers LOL *duck!*

hi MIV,

i thought so too... life can make its turns, and we'll never know when or how.

your highness the queen, is zorra a planet? =)

yup! dreams are free, always yours and no one can take it away... dream away your highness - i OD'ed on dreaming, and now reality is just a blurrrr LOL

hi windy head,

did you know that the word beautiful came from beauty-fool?

you see in the old days, beauties tend to be fools so one day a court jester called one of the ladies (royal that she is) my lord the beauty-fool princess... he got beheaded, but the word stuck to everyone's tongue, hence beautiful it is!

see! that's me dreaming again, sorry! ROTFL

hi inn,

it was my pleasure. hope the pictures wasn't too drastic.

hi kuE,

no worries, that's why bloggin makes sense... we have control over what we read, when we read it (hmmm i sound like an ad)

hi Jo,

negative? realistic perhaps, or pessimistic? no more of a realist, i think =)

p/s

i heard penang drivers are... hmmm how shall i say this? *yikes!* he he, anyway careful on the road okay.

hi pojan,

i am in total agreement with you on that! but someone told me "you harvest what you plant" so i am now looking for a full subsidy to ensure a good harvest. know anyone with good fertilizer? heh heh =)

p/s

Agreed that you harvest what you plant. Then how if the plant get eaten/damaged by other useless 'insects'. Kill the insects, is it? Now if you'll excuse me, i'm going to the shop to find good insecticides. I'm going for the kill.

p/s having blogging withdrawal symptoms like constantly logging in and out the blogger.com without doing anything. Still accessing own blog to see if there's any new comment when i well know that i told everyone i will not be blogging for a while. *sigh* Maybe i should give it up already..

p/p/s Btw,my fav is cadbury caramello. :)

i have always been told that i live in a fairy tale world and what i strive for will never happen in this real world. but i never despair or give up ... i still believe in "once upon a time" all the way to "and they lived happily ever after"
